We understand that challenges are not limited to any one family or any one zip code. More than geography, United Way defines community as people working together to address concerns that affect us all. 

Focusing on individual community needs within a broader regional context makes the United Way of Coastal Fairfield County a leader in creating effective solutions to challenging issues.  We are able to adapt successful local initiatives to neighboring communities, create working partnerships across town boundaries, and learn from each other.

Where the Money Goes

Your United Way contribution goes to creating lasting changes right where you live. United Way invests your contribution in the areas of education, income and health, the building blocks for a better life.

Some of the funds support programs and services that help people with basic needs, such as childcare, emergency shelter and sliding-scale mental health services. Volunteers direct your contributions to the programs that get the best results.

United Way also works to keep people from needing those services in the first place.

Working with a broad range of community partners, United Way supports new approaches that focus on prevention and community changes.
