Millward Brown Employees Make Gardens Grow in Bridgeport
120 Employees of Millward Brown volunteered to help create a Community Garden to be enjoyed by residents of Marina Village.  The overwhelming feeling of the volunteers was that helping out in the community is a really rewarding experience.  Volunteers found the experience to be completely different than their day to day activities at the global marketing firm.  The employees were polled and they found that community engagement was top on the list of opportunities important to the company.  Thanks to the collaboration of United Way, Bridgeport Community Land Trust and volunteers from Millward Brown,  a plot of overgrown land was turned into a community garden consisting of 30 individual garden plots.  Volunteers worked on the project over a 3 day... more
Wi-mentor Fun & Educational Trips
  During this Wi-mentor school year the program has provided its students with great opportunities to learn above and beyond the in-class correspondence with their mentor. The Wi-mentor program has been able to provide the students with fun educational field trips throughout the year to expand the horizon of the students involved. On May 7th the sophomore class at Bridge Academy had the great privileged to visit and tour the Sikorsky Aircraft Facility in Stratford CT.  Wi-mentors Tim Hallstrom & Mike Thornberg were instrumental in the setup of the tour and guiding us on this wonderful experience. Life is good Store Features Young Leaders Society
The Life is good Store in Fairfield hosted United Way of Coastal Fairfield County’s Young Leaders Society for one of their regularly scheduled Third Thursday networking events. Rich Cremin, Chief Sales Optimist and Partner shared with the group the history of Life is good and his philosophy on how to be successful as a business and in life. Over 20 Young Leaders enjoyed a wine and cheese reception at the Fairfield store as Rich spoke about Life is good’s core attributes of humility, humor and simplicity. Cremin also spoke about the Life if good Kids Foundation which uses the power of play to help children overcome life threatening challenges. Store Manager Jenny Taylor Franks and other store staff were so impressed with the goals of the Young Leaders... more
